Congratulations and Some Details...

Congratulations to EVERYONE who participated in this weekend's Ski-A-Thon and Team Event. For everyone who is new this year - I think now you may understand why this is my favorite day of the year! Watching all the kids - from LTR to Academy lapping on Green Chair, getting through all the courses and challenging themselves in the Speed Trap! Is is so much fun to watch.

A BIG Thanks to the Academy parents for hosting our BBQ at the bottom of the Handletow so we could all be spectators for the Team Event - Dual Slalom Double Elimination Relay Race. Watching the big kids help the little kids and the little kids watching their bigger teammates ripping down the course is so exciting. I am sure that EVERY kid there pushed themselves a little faster to help their team, show their coaches and their parents and prove to themselves that they are better than when they started. I am sure that your own kids surprised you because they sure surprised me! Thanks Geir and Kristen Eide for organizing the Candy Dash - I am sure all of the parents also thank you for giving their kids bags of candy. The Eides have been storing and sorting candy since our first scheduled date for the Ski-A-Thon back in December! Thanks also to Erin Graves, Renee Shirley and everyone who volunteered to set up, take down and count laps. Thanks coaches for keeping the courses in good shape, keeping the speed trap safe and helping out wherever help was needed. Thanks Coach Chachi for your beautiful Blue Dye all over the place. And last of all thanks to our own Vin Scully (hopefully some of you know who that is) for announcing all day until the batteries on the microphone were dead - Rick Graves - thank you for your interesting tid-bits, jokes and imaginary facts throughout the day! And the season is winding down..... here is what is left....

Friday - (Club,A-Team) 1-3pm GS - Mt. Hood Lane / 5-8 Skills Quest Practice (improve your skiing skills!)

Saturday - Club, A, B, C, LTR - 9-3 - SL Green Chair and Handletow

LTR and C Team - ANNUAL DONUT RUN - Train in the am. After lunch Coaches will take kids on the Timberline Shuttle and ski the Alpine Trail to Summit and eat DONUTS compliments of Huckleberrys! You MUST RSVP on the Team App. All LTR and C Team are invited. B Team members may attend based on Space Available (talk to Coach Stephanie)
